2001-2003: GUGLIELMO MARCONI CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS:
In late 1800,'s and early 1900's, Guglielmo Marconi made it possible for multitudes of distant persons to share information, culture and entertainment. Since then, all human life has progressively changed for good. A century after, the GALILEO LEGACY FOUNDATION promoted the Marconi Centennial Initiatives (See the two panels below)

2011: EVENTS FOR THE 150-TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNIFICATION OF ITALY

BEYOND THE HORIZON”   (2001-2003)

OCCASION:

The centennial of the first inter-continental telegram transmission (Cape Cod – Cornwall) between President Theodore Roosevelt and King Edward the 7th (19 January 1903)

WHAT WAS PLANNED:

To promote a live show of  telepresence (sound, vision, tactile) to commemorate the 1903 event

WHAT HAS BEEN DONE:

New England mission of Princess Elettra Marconi, daughter of the Italian Scientist (January 2003):

Radio conversation  between Princess Elettra's  and the Astronauts at the International Space Station, from Cape Cod

COMMEMORATIVE  BRONZE PLAQUE AT THE LOGAN AIRPORT, BOSTON
(December 15, 2001)

The initiative was promoted by the Atlantic Link International Committee, from Sasso Marconi, Italy, and locally supported by the Galileo Legacy Foundation

The plaque was placed in a hall of the International Logan Airport in presence of Princess Elettra Marconi and the Mayor of the Town of Sasso Marconi.
